Bangkok - Part 2

As promised, this is the second part of Bangkok, the first day was basically random shopping at chak tu chak, didn’t buy much stuff thou, but it was a great eye opener to see everything under the sun being sold at one specific place.

The second day of bangkok trip,we hit off to the floating market, it is said that there are only few very famous floating market in the world!!!

The most famous would be Bangkok…Duh~

And of course another one is in Vietnam..

The Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Thailand is located about 105 kms from Bangkok. It took us about an hour and half from Bangkok to actually reach to the floating market. It’s because of Bangkok jam…. The stretch of the floating market is about 32 km. so we chartered a boat and rent for an approximately an hour or so….

If you wanna know more about the floating market in Thailand, then google it k? cause I’m not a Thai/ local and I’m jus briefly describing my trip which is less than 2 hours there. One should go to the floating market in the morning ….. cause it’s a market la…. cause nobody goes to the market after twelve… anyways please find photos for self-explanatory …

#one of the many stuff sold in the market, they were so many to choose from and you will be spolit for choices.... this boat here sells food, well, roasted pork actually...yummy licious...

# the candid shot where my fren cindy was too busy eating coconuts...

she said something like : i'm not happy if i jus drink it , i must finish everything....

very kiasu type wan...anyway, she did finish the coconut, the water and everything that is in it.....

Later after the floating market, we headed to somewhat place in between Bangkok city and floating market to have seafood. I’m bad a remembering names, so I totally forget the name of the place that we went and ate seafood….the route to the place where we had seafood were such in a total mess, there was no tar road, everywhere was muddy and people were driving like no direction wan.....

we felt that the taxi driver was taking us for a ride of our life....... we soon found out that the place is famous and the seafood is damn tasty and we had all this “kung kung stuff “ which is prawn in thai words…..

We had "Tom yam kung" seafood platter, sweet n sour fish, crabs, thai salad, steam fish....and i dun even know what else la its called... but there was so much food all for less than RM 150…. For the six of us.... cause we belanja the taxi driver also la, kesian la, he bring us go eat seafood then have to see us eat all this yummy food and he jus eat nasi pattaya meh?

of course we are not that stingy la, since he recommended the place, so we also belanja him to join us for lunch la...

if that was not enough, we went to china town and had bird nest too.... and some weird delicacies in chinatown itself...

Despite being tired cause we woke up at 7 to head to the floating market, we were still very enthusiastic to go for a walk in the night market which was very popular in Chinatown.

However, we soon found out that Bangkok local authorities had a regulations that they forbid to have any night market on Mondays, even vendors were not allowed to sell food at the street on Monday unless the authorities stated otherwise. So no luck for us, which only means that we should go home and sleep to charge out battery so that we can have a full day shopping trip the next day……

we woke up as early as 8.am the following day to go shopping......after breakfast we took a "tuk-tuk" to shopping heaven called "pratunam"

Pratunam is different from your local mid-valley or retail store because you get to buy your clothes, shoes and jeweleries for wholesale price. The rule is simple:

buy more than 3 clothes,

each design can vary from each other,

it could be a mix and match.. meaning:

jus buy more than 3 baju and the rest is history....

so within 2 hours of shopping, i have burn almost RM 800 for 40 clothes..

that's about RM 20 per dress,so damn cheap rite???

dun believe me??? well ...believe it!!

there are more than 15K shops around this area, if you have time, you can slowly go check out.....

Warning : the shops around Pratunam are relatively small so be courages and be ready to walk.....i've walk for more than 4 hours and you are strongly recommended to have strong arms.......well to carry your shopping stuff that you bought la..abuthen??

besides dresses, there were also many shops selling accessories vintage type which is my favourite and those of the odd types which are chunky and many more...

# jackie, ( aka colleague) is posing with the costume jeweleries in one of d shop.. with so much choices in jus one shop, my eyes also a bit blur blur....

imagine that we were in this street where they sell jus costume jeweleries every shop and each is different...

can die .. !!

the main problem about shopping here in pratunam... is that i didn't have enough luggage to keep all the stuff that i bought, even thou i have bought yet another luggage bag, there were too many stuff to get and i wanted to buy almost everything...

Luckily, i was accompanied by jackie ( picture above wearing red), she stopped me every time i go crazy.....

lesson learn: bring a big-huge empty luggage bag the next time u wanna go shopping.

Well, that all folks.. i hope you enjoyed reading about bangkok as much as i have enjoyed writing about it....if you have never been to pratunam ,bangkok! ( btw, thanx vic for yr camera, all picture were take using vic's canon powershot)

Go book a ticket now, with Airasia... ( now everyone can fly!!!)

bangkok jam!

The title already speak for itself, this trip was a crazy trip..

Did you get that..

I said it again… “CRAZY TRIP”

It was a suppose to be a solely shopping trip,

But somehow we ended up in floating market..jus look and the pictures and enjoy k?

We boarded a 7.50 am flight and reach Bangkok around 10.05 am ,and since Bangkok was slower by an hour, it was only 9 a.m plus… what else can one do? we took a bus to bangkok instead of a cab, konon la wanna save some money.....We took thai breakfast when we reached bangkok city, please dun ask me what I had because I myself was also confused, it was somewhat sausage wrapped in wafer…mixed of salty and sweet ….. sorry ..no photo..lupa la….

In bangkok,

the taxi drivers and bus drivers always refer to this victory monument …

somewhat like our kl central…..

meaning that if you would like to go to chak tu chak market, they will tell that it is 15 mins from victory monument

or if you would like to go to Chinatown , then it would be 40 mins from victory monument,

their victory monument looks like this….

[VICTORY MONUMENT]

Lol, u must have thought I was somewhat glamour…..well, sorry to disappoint you , its not, but the roundabout is rather a very very big one...much bigger than your usual shah alam roundabout or the batu caves roundabout.......

but I was rather impressed with their overhead bridge which was about 1 km long,

if you notice carefully behind my beautiful face, you could actually see that I’m on top of the pedestrian bridge…..

[HEADING TO CHAK TU CHAK] via mrt...

Our first stop was chak tu chak market, this market is one of the very famous market in bangkok... the market is only opened during the weekend, Saturday & Sunday, and every piece of items you can think of is sold here,

Seriously, they were shoes, bags, clothes, plates, furniture’s, pets, foods, shrines, antics, accessories and blah.. blah blah….the many items that were sold, it was crazy….let me give u a brief imagination,

the shops were merely 6 x 6 foot,

the inner path was not wider than 4 feet; well except for the main road, and they were more than 30,000 shops..hello…30,000 shops…….

See for yourself….

t-shirts were selling cheap cheap....but seriously not all stuff can be bought here cause this market is basically our jonker street in melaka....

they only entertain tourist and most of them can actually speak english, which means ...~ duh~
toursit spot la....
if you must know, thai people dun speak english and the only language they speak is...well.. yeah...thai........and if you dun understand thai language, dun worry...jus say "mai kau jai"..... no serious...it means to say that you dun understand........

they were other items selling in the market like bowls and sushi plates and stuff that you can only find in ikea only way way tonnes cheaper......

the ceramics bowls and plates comes in different sizes, colour and texture.. and some were really cute.....i wanted to buy some but then i worried if it was possible to actually carry back everything to malaysia......but stil..... i was tempted to buy..but i was stopped by my fellow colleague who pleaded me to be rational.....

Fine! fine! who can be rational when everything is freaking cheap la......and did i mentioned that the strawberries were selling like any ordinary fruits vendor you find in malaysia..for only 20baht you could actually enjoy such yummylicious fruits.....ok ok , i know some of u guys dun really fancy strawberries....

but they were also jackfruit, mangoes, and pineapple...

they were super sweet and super cheap.....i think i had about 4 pineapples for a freaking 2days....

and i know what pineapples are ok....? so please dun ask why i had so much...if some of you know why girls shouldn't have too much pineapple..well....go figure........

these are the animals prints bolster, cushion cover, handbags and all sort of animals prints cover ... the shops itself looks like a safari.....

the market were also selling really really cute pet..for Less than 1000 baht, you could actually get one......

they were so damn freaking cute..check out the video here....
i'm not very good at uploading video, so please bear with me.....if it takes too long too load

we spent about 4-5 hours touring the market, we also knew that we have missed out many many shops, but out legs were tired, and our eyes were getting blurry from all the things we saw in the market, we were very hungry too and we almost passed out due to the heat and we could only save ourselves by catching a cab to the hotel....

[to be continued......................]

Island escapade – Finale

So, my final day in perhentian basically ends after I had a hearty breakfast at the Matahari chalet…(from the pic, u can see there where we had b'fast and the place that where we stayed.....)

Before i left, I took loads of candid shot, lala shot, stupid shot, whatever u call it...m not goin to post it up here la.....

*

*

After we checked out, we chartered a taxi to Kota Bahru town before departing back to the city ; we went to this famous place called "yati's"...the locals would know the place well..... u guys should come here too…I recommend, THE nasi dagang and nasi kerabu..and it goes well with the “ayam percik” and if you have sweet tooth, the local desserts is a must try!

i was seriously full with all the nasi, nasi & sweet desserts..i swear to god i wanted to pack all home....

and I’m so keberatan to leave..but then again, if i wanna come here, i need to work so that i can come here again, EVERY YEAR.....

Perhentian is a great place to be, for those of you who wants a laid back lifetsyle, this is a place you cannot miss.......

- its not like your average "hard rock cafe" resort , its really simple, where the locals are still using mosquito coil, and you are still sleeping on flat mattresses....

- and your're in your surfer shorts and bikini top ; ready to dip in whenever the weather gets hot...

provided that Perhentian will always be like that way i want it to be; not so commercialized like Redang, and NOT too many people like Phuket, i would come....i will sign up for a 3-day crash course of scuba diving.....and get a certificate..

so......WHO'S JOINING ME?

Island escapade – Day 2

This comes in a bit late…sowee…

My schedule has been pretty hectic due the project that we have jus undertake, thus the delay…

So I was saying, Day 2 was merely snorkeling and dinner….

We woke up at 10 am , took heavy load breakfast; or jus me cause I’m d youngest and the most energetic…and so ready for snorkeling..

Our snorkeling trip took us to various places, sea turtles, sharks , clown fish, yellow tank, anemone,..or whatever u called it..i always have my tongue twisted....anyways,whatever under the sea u name it they have it, there was a time where I was so enthusiast chasing sharks that me and my guide we so so away from our boat….

So here are the pics,, btw, thank to “mama’s boy” cam, we dive in with the camera to take more pics…..

The last stop was to see sea turtles….they are so cutey cute you can really die!

the turtles actually are waiting for night time to be released in the ocean..it was great seeing them frantically flapping up and down none stop..like charged super super energiser battery!!!

oh ya, before we left, we saw numerous of jelly fish floating and since the guide told us it was safe, we scoop it up to play with it (i know; u might think i'm crazy, but i'm not..well..maybe jus a little)
*

*

behold, JELLY FISH IN YOUR HANDS...then after that, we wait for the jellyfish to lose its water ..something like osmosis....wakakaka...almost dying but but not yet..then i throw it back into the sea..where IT belongs..

our snorkeling trip lasted till about 4.30 pm; where the sun already burn most of my skin except my private part......thus leaving me still TANNED now....

our snorkeling trip did not END when we got back to our island, we were suppose to return those mask and flippers; but since we were already tanned and burn; so might as well play till maximum...

YES, we took the mask, flippers and camera and went venturing into the ocean without any life jacket..we walk at the edge of the rocks and dive into the sea where we saw more corals and some fish so called "doctor fish"..... we swam until the tides came in..and we were still swimming...

it was almost sunset, so we decided to head home, on our way home, one of my guy fren can't help but to stare at this "lady" sleeping topless....under the shade....so he wanted to take a pic of her, but since it was so obvious going right over to take her pic, (so freaking hamsap rite??)

he said that he will pose but make sured that i took her topless pic......and here's it....since he has one, might as well share it here...with all u guys.....

A-HA!!
u think i will really post up the nude pic?
i am still a girl rite? u think i will show my own species nude pictures?
*
* ish* ish*
*
*
but the most interesting story is this..the guy friend who decided to take this pic put down his bag for a little posing..... the bag contain his chalet key... i think he was so excited to take a look at the preview in the camera, he didn't knew that he drop his keys, we didn't saw it coming either...HE REFUSE to pay for the lost of keys and was looking high and low to search for it.....

For the price of camera : RM 1,799.00
For the price to replace lost key : RM 20.00
The look on his face when searching for keys: PRICELESS!!!

Guys, there is a lesson to be learn here, never opt to be pervert unless u know that you are paying a price for it... considering RM 20 is not expensive though....

of course, he didn't find it, and he paid for the lost key.......

It was a good and memorable trip for him, and as for me i have fun time enjoying my dinner ...

the picture is a wee bit dark; and i admit i'm lazy to edit the pictures; it will really show the tanned line..also, cause i'm not Xiaxue..and i dun't practice air-brushing my pic...

(Scrumptious dinner)

that basically ends my day 2 in Perhentian.....

Island escapade – Day 1

I’m so overdue with this post..nevertheless I still need to post it up….

To make everyone go green eye monster ..my budgeted trip cost me RM 400 with balance of RM 23.74..this cost includes

  • Air ticket,
  • Taxi fares,
  • boat transfer,
  • scrumptious seafood,
  • Supper, tea break, breakfast,
  • snorkeling trip,
  • turtle watching,
  • accommodation
  • basically everything la…

We took a morning flight, and woke up wee early to be at LCCT at 6 a.m..we departed at 6.20 am and arrived Kota Bahru at 7.20 am plus , minus....

.......the ride on the plane...

Our trip was free and easy , so every decision was made there and there. We took a cab from Kota Bahru to Kuala Besut which include a return boat transfer to Pulau Perhentian.

Did I mention that my trip was to perhentian? LOL….. yeah, my trip was to perhentian…… so the whole journey from Kota Bahru Airport to the island was about 2hours and we arrived the island at 11.30 am. Which is just in time for lunch. here's the pic where i can't wait to be in the island...

We stayed in Long island because Vic mentioned that that place is damn cantik…after we checked into our chalets, we went to look for food….but take a look at this really really cantik view where we had lunch….

Muwahahhahha…extremely B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L …for a PD ians who stayed her whole life in da beach….this is one island U MUST GO….u must go!!!

After we fill our tummy… we were up for an adventurous activity…..we checked with the guide for a jungle trekking activity on the other side.???Or so the guide claimed. He is a local there and he knows the place by heart. The guide said that we will trek to the other side of the island which is called “ personal beach”

Me : personal beach ..wow! sounds cool…

Friend : How cool is that? Not that you can swim naked..?

Me : =_=’

The guide was literally wearing some “fake crocs” yellow slippers and he told us that if was safe to trek with our japanese slippers…WE BELIEVED HIM….and we got cut on our legs because there were thorns which we could not see hidden here and there during our trekking trip…

At last, after 45 mins trekking, we could hear the sounds of the waves and we quickly took a sneak peak from the massive , bush, grass, leaves ( I dunno what you called that, jus a bunch of flora crap obstructing our view).....but it was so fun...(u can see the background of the guide with his crocs)

Upon the sneak peak, we all rushed down to the “personal beach” ,…it was so damn AWESOME. ...especially at a hot afternoon …. we began to lose more clothes as the weather gets hotter.. (u guys know what i mean)

So here’s the personal beach that we were…wakakkaka..jealous rite?

... YOUR OWN BEACH..WITH FREEDOM TO:

"DO ANYTHING CAN"

Not long after that, the guide told us that there were sea cucumber in the waters and that we could eat it RAW..its so good for health..it makes your hair black and good for your tummy..although it looks pretty gross because it looks like some African dick…

...thats's what it looks like......gross isnt it?

BUT GUESS WHAT????

without hesitating , I took one out beneath the sand and started chewing it

..mmmmmmmmm..YUMMY..........................................and one more on the other hand...

Ok, ok …I was jus kidding about the sea cucumber…..i made that all up.... i didn’t eat it .., EWWW…how can one EAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT?

can’t you see that its just so GELI and wobbly and jelly look alike?

BUT I had fun playing with it, because once u took it out, THE THINGY will jus squirt water out from a tiny hole AT THE END....something like ejaculation….i had fun squirting it to all my friends…… of course they were not very happy…..but who is?

Usually the person who gets to make fun of others will always have the ULTIMATE fun….

After some cam-whoring,

soaking and squirting ,

we finally went back to Long island, and this time the 45 mins of jungle trekk seems very fast because I think people are always eager to go to places and it always seems faster to get home…nevertheless, our adventure did not stop there…upon returning to long island, we continue to take a dip at the sea till the sun set and till our tummy gets hungry…

After we had dinner, we all went back to our chalets because we had signed up for a snokerlling course the next day at 10.30 am to go see sharks, turtles, fishes, corals and whatever u can find under the sea....

That bascially ends our day one in island escape........

Baked and tanned.

Alas, as you can see , the title says it all…..will post about my perhentian trip later, still need to sort out the photos cause they were really crazy and hilarious photo that I need to filter…can’t post it up here, but if you see me personally, then I’ll show it you…

And need time to heal cause the sunburn in my skin is really painful..not to mentioned now that I’m almost the same colour as “mama’s boy”

Also, I shall get a hair cut tomorrow cause my trip to the sea had really caused bad bad damages for my hair and all my ends got tangled, got fed up brushing my hair to work for the past few days…

but if you ask me again if i would like to go perhantian again..my answer is YES!
